ENCHANTED MOUNTAIN QUILTING ANNOUNCES SUMMER CLASSES

Enchanted Mountain Quilting 324 W. State St., Olean, NY. 716-372-2327

ENCHANTED MOUNTAIN QUILTING NEWSLETTER

May 2009

Dear Quilters,

Welcome Spring , and welcome to issue #2 of our newsletter! We have special treats in store for you this summer, and Chris and Kathy will have new ideas and more when they return from Quilt Market, so stay tuned! Meanwhile, enjoy all the newly arrived fabric just waiting to be used in a summer class project – when you purchase fabric for a class, you will receive a discount. Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa joe and read on…

Thank you for all your suggestions and your enthusiastic interest in our shop. Our list of summer classes reflects your input, and includes a few new teachers. Also, please note that many classes are offered in more than one time slot for your convenience.

EMQ CLUB is coming: it begins in September, but you can sign up now. This monthly meeting will include a free pattern, tips and hints, show and tell, the daily special, and more. For more details, talk to Betsy.

Also, please don’t miss the details on Ruth Ohol’s trunk show and machine quilting classes in this newsletter. Space is limited for these events.

We are offering something special for those who sign up for four or more summer classes: free registration in the Christmas class (marked with *) of your choice. All class samples will be displayed beginning May 9.

Finally, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and grandmas out there and Happy Father’s Day to all the men who support us quilters in our “habit”.

Have a great summer!

Kathy, Chris, Betsy, and Lanna

Special Summer Event:

Ruth Ohol, from Lancaster, NY, is a respected machine quilter whose show -level artistry is a result of years of practice and classes with some of the best machine quilters out there.

Ruth will present a trunk show and talk on Sat., July 25 at 1 pm. Cost is $10 and registration is required. Prepare to be enlightened and dazzled!

In addition, Ruth will have two machine quilting classes at EMQ! On Friday, Aug. 14 she will teach a basic machine quilting class that covers quilt and machine preparation for quilting, info on needles, threads, and batting, and instruction on basic stitching techniques. On Saturday, Aug. 15, Ruth will teach the intermediate level class, covering trapunto by machine, quilting without marking and more. (This class is for the machine quilter with previous free-motion experience). Each class is 6 hours with a break at noon. Class fee of $45 includes lunch. Registration is required, and space is limited, so you’ll want to sign up soon, which will also provide you plenty of time for the class preparation (some marking and cutting required).
